Students in the Hawai'i Community College Intensive English Program (IEP) celebrated the completion of the summer 2016 session and the graduation of several students from the program on Thursday, July 21.
Seven Hawai'i Community College students recently celebrated the successful completion of the college's Practical Nursing program that prepares them to be Licensed Practical Nurses. At a pinning ceremony on July 15, the graduates celebrated their success with administrators, faculty, staff, friends and family. Congratulations, students! The deadline to apply for the fall semester at Hawai‘i Community College in Hilo and Hawai‘i Community College – Pālamanui in Kona is Monday, August 1. Classes start August 22.
The Hawai‘i Community College Digital Media Arts program is growing.
Starting this fall, Hawai‘i CC will begin offering an Associate of Science degree in Digital Media Arts and will also begin offering Digital Media Arts classes at the Hawai‘i Community College – Pālamanui campus in Kona.
Hawai‘i Community College and the Hilo Veterans Center are pleased to announce they will host a Veterans Resource, Education and Job Fair at the Hawai‘i CC campus in Hilo on Friday, July 8 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
“There are many resources available in the community to help veterans with careers and education,” said Sue Dunwoody, the Hawai‘i CC Veteran Program Specialist. “The goal of this event is to bring those resources together in one place so it’s easy for veterans to get information and make connections that will help them succeed.”
The Electronics Technology program offers skills that can help students succeed in high-tech careers. Roy Ellamar has his name on Harvest by Roy Ellamar, a restaurant at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Tayden Ellamar is master cook at Joel Robuchon, the only restaurant in Las Vegas with three Michelin stars, according to the article.
