Hilo, Hawai`i – Hawai`i Community College's annual celebration, Hawai`i Community College Day, captivated the local community and made headlines in the Hawai`i Tribune Herald. The event, held on April 20th, showcased the institution's  program diversity and talents, drawing praise and recognition from attendees and media alike.

Japanese Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Hawai‘i Donates $10,000 to Hawai'i Community College Culinary Program

Hawai'i Community College has received a generous donation of $10,000 from the Japanese Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Hawai'i (JCCIH). This donation, made on March 28, 2024, is part of a tradition of support that JCCIH has provided to the college over the years, reflecting their long-standing commitment to fostering education and community growth in Hilo.

JCCIH Donates $15k to Hawai‘i Community College

The Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Hawaii (JCCIH) has donated $15,000 to Hawai’i Community College (Hawai‘i CC) using the proceeds from the 23rd annual “A Taste of Hilo” online silent auction that took place in the fall of 2021. 

The donation was celebrated at a luncheon and check signing ceremony in March at Hawai‘i CC’s Bamboo Hale restaurant where Culinary Arts students prepared and served a three-course meal. 

Auto Body Repair and Painting students help make a wish come true

A 17-year-old Kurtistown resident who suffers from kidney disease and complications from treatment had his wish granted by Make-A-Wish Hawaii and a team of partners on Sunday, Dec. 5.

International Education Week is November 16-19 and features games, trivia, presentations, hosts from around the community, food demonstrations, and fun cultural presentations to help celebrate different cultures.
