Hawai‘i Community College – Pālamanui students and faculty recently teamed up with about 50 U.S. Marines and other community members to build the new Pālamanui Nature Trail that extends south from the campus into an area that was once a dry land forest.

The Pacific International Space Center for Exploration Systems (PISCES) – a state-funded aerospace agency – in partnership with Hawai‘i Community College has launched a new credit-based internship program to offer college students high-tech learning opportunities while earning classroom credit.
The collaborative program will provide hands-on experience in computer programming and robotics work to develop Hawai‘i’s skilled labor workforce.

In the process, they tackled subjects like computer programming, electronics, and architecture, which sound complex and intimidating even to many adults. But the program is designed to demystify these subjects through hands-on projects like creating Rube Goldberg machines, light and sound meters, and self-driving model cars.
