Hawai‘i Community College (Hawaii CC) is a member of the national Interstate Passport initiative with the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE). WICHE notified all stakeholders that the program will be sunsetting in 2023. The Interstate Passport was a tool that facilitated the transfer of blocks of general education credit across state lines.
Hawaii CC will cease issuing Passports after the Summer 2023 term. We will continue to accept the Passport for incoming transfer students through Summer 2024. Students who have already earned a Passport will have the designation remain on their transcripts.
Hawaii CC students looking to transfer elsewhere are advised to work closely with the receiving institution as it is unknown how other institutions will accept Passports for transfer students.
