Today's Activities
COUNTDOWN:
- There is only one instructional
day left for this class and that is today; however here is a note from
bottom of the last page of your syllabus:
- There will be no final examination for this course. However, you
have until 3 p.m, Thursday, December 18, to hand in revisions of writing
activities, to update your web site, and to complete allowable make-up
work. You final grade will be calculated whenever you finish all of the
required assignments. If your work is not completed by December 18, your
grade will be caculated regardless and any unfinished work may prove to
lower your grade considerably.
- During Finals week you must do your work in the Learning Center.
- Use IBMs with html editors
- Ask instructor or Brandon for assistance in printing of reports,
letters, and resumes.
- The Learning Center hours are 8:00-4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday,
- You will need to get quizzes from your instructor: Room 111 in the
Learning Center
- Completed work must be given directly to your teacher or to Brandon.
- Be sure material on disk is loaded on to the server in the instructor's
office before saying aloha to the semester. Label your disks or your work
will get lost.. If the instructor doesn't get your work, you won't get
any credit for it.
- Check out your classmates' work
at the Students and Projects
page.
- Notes on extra credit:
- It only counts if all regular
assignments, tests, and quizzes are completed.
- "Examination of a Web Site"
extra credit:
- Each examination must be done
carefully and thoughtfully.
- Be sure the Internet address
is accurate and clearly printed so the instructor can check out the source.
- Remember you are examining a
"web site" not just a "web page." Be sure you know
the difference.
- Quality will earn more points
than quantity. In other words, three well done examinations will earn you
more points than five or six hurriedly done ones.
- Extra forms can be obtained
by clicking Examination
of a Web Site . You must use the latest form.
- Individual conferences....check your grade summary to date to see
if you will be able to finish by next Thursday.
- Grammar post-test (Your choice. The gain between post tests scores
is considered extra credit and will be added to your total score for the
class grade.)

This web site has been created by Birch Robison, Associate
Professor of Reading at Hawai'i Community College, for students enrolled
in English 060 (Technical Report Writing) for the 1997 Fall semester.
It is an update of a similar activity originating
from the HERN '95
Institute, held at Kapiolani Community College in July, 1995.

The E60 Bulletin Board is updated two or three times a week
during the semester of instruction.
