Flexible Scheduling Option
This project is the development of alternate syllabi for students who can not attend
regular class and want to receive credit for a particular course. The focus for the Fall
98 semester will be to provide a flexible scheduling option for students in any of
these three courses: English 21 (Developmental Reading), English 102 (College Reading),
and English 60 (Technical Report Writing). The syllabi will follow closely the activities
outlined for the conventional classroom but will allow the students to complete most
assignments outside of class and to take quizzes and tests at their convenience in the
HawCC Main Campus Learning Center.
Students, however, must be reminded that a course offered online is not easier
than taking the same course in the conventional classroom manner. The student
who is successful in ;such a course must , perhaps, be more responsible
