Directions for Completing an Assignment Online 
at the Distance Reading Lab

Some Reading Lab assignments can be completed at any computer with internet access via Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox.  This "place" in space is called the  Distance Reading Lab and it operates via Laulima, an online hardware/software program administered by the UH Instructional  Technology Services (ITS).  The program is free to students enrolled within the UH system.  Access to the Distance Reading Lab is password-protected.

Go to the HawCC Reading Lab homepage at <http://hawaii.hawaii.edu/wwwreading>.

For first time users:

  1. Scroll down the page and find the Laulima link
  2. Log in with your MyUH username and password.
  3. In the sidebar menu, click on Membership.
  4. On this page, click on Joinable Sites.
  5. Scroll down the page and find the Distance Reading Lab and click join.
  6. The Distance Reading Lab will now appear in the top menu bar.  Click the link.

If this is not your first time, just click the Laulima link and login with your MyUH username and password.

From the Distance Reading Lab homepage, click the appropriate link for the assignment you will be completing.
