The Learning Center Philosophy The Learning Center exists to assist students in their pursuit of knowledge. To this end, we freely provide various services, including tutoring. Tutoring is viewed as a supplement, not as a substitute for classroom participation, and will be available with these goals as the primary focus: promote independence in learning build student's confidence stimulate active learning personalize instruction provide insights into the learning process and school success The Learning Center has over 35 Macintosh and IBM Computers for student use; Three computer server systems provide students with an incredible amount of information. Software such as Skills Bank 4 is available for class instruction, as well as Shopware and Ask Mike for classes in Trade & Industry. The Learning Center
