Academic Senate Proposal for Faculty Access to

Lower Campus State Vehicle Parking Area

Problem

Some faculty members have reported that competition for parking spaces on the lower campus has caused them to be late to their classes.

Proposed Solution

A clearly marked six-space parking lot already exists for the State Vehicles.  The college has only three State Vehicles, two of which are working now.  The remaining spaces can be used to provide temporary short-term faculty parking, without removing student parking spaces.

Proposed Senate Motion

1.         The Senate recommends that three of the State Vehicle spaces be made available for short-term faculty use via temporary parking permits.

2.         The Senate also recommends a parking task force be appointed to review parking issues and recommend solutions in response to our growth and changing needs.
