Nursing is an opportunity and not a Job.  It is an opportunity to provide safe, efficient, productive, and wholistic care to the people in our society that need help.  It is an opportunity that allows us to have a positive impact on our society.  It is an opportunity that holds great responsibilities, but it also produces great outcomes.  We are the hands and the faces that can help heal another person's soul and help perform the care that can improve a person's health.  Nurses are a big part of an extraordinary team that we call health care.

The Division of Nursing and Allied Health offers two separate nursing programs: the Certificate of Achievement in Practical Nursing leading to licensed practical nursing and the Associate of Science in Nursing leading to registered nursing. Adult Residential Care Home Operator classes are also offered. Upon completing the prescribed ARCH coursework, students will be eligible for licensure by the State Department of Health as an Adult Residential Care Home Operator.

Both nursing programs are approved by the Hawai'i Board of Nursing. The Associate in Science Degree program, leading to registered nursing, is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and approved by the Hawai'i State Board of Nursing. The address for ACEN is 3343 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 850, Atlanta, GA 30326. The ACEN telephone number is 404.975.5000 and web site is www.acenursing.org
