Admission Requirements to the Practical Nursing
Program:
Satisfactory scores on the National League for Nursing
Pre-Admission Exam-P.N.
Cumulative college GPA of 2.0 by the end of spring, if
attended college previously.
Proficiency in reading, writing, and math as evidenced by
completion of courses or placement test scores.
Admission Requirements to the Associate of Science
Degree
Program:
National League for Nursing Pre-Admission Exam-R.N scores.
Completion of the 27 semester hours of prerequisite courses
with
a "C" grade or better and a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 by the end of
the spring semester prior to program entry.
Proficiency in reading, writing, and math as evidenced by
completion of courses or placement test scores. Math
proficiency
level must be achieved in order to be considered for admission to
nursing program.
In order to be considered for acceptance in the A.D.N.
program on the LPN Transition Track*, the following requirements must
be met:
Graduation from a state accredited LPN program.
Full time equivalent employment as an L.P.N. for at least
one year
before entering
the AS (RN) program.
Experience in an acute hospital setting or long term care
facility
in the last five years.
NLN Pre-Admission Exam-RN scores.
Decision score of 70 or above on
the
NLN Nursing Acceleration Challenge Exam (ACE) 1 PN-RN Foundations of
Nursing
College cumulative G.P.A. of 2.0 or above.
Completion of the prerequisite support courses for the AS
(RN)
program
with a "C" or better in each course.
Admission Requirements to the Adult Residential Care Home
Operator (CHO)
Nurses' Aide OBRA Certification
Registered Nurses and Licensed
Practical Nurses enroll in a course specially designed for them (NURS
15)
