Adult Residential Care Home Operator (CHO)



Upon completion of a Nurses' Aide course, and passing the OBRA certification exam for Nurses' Aides, students may enroll in the Adult Residential Care Home Operator (CHO) courses (3 credits).  Upon completing the prescribed CHO coursework, students will receive a Certificate of Competency and be eligible for licensure by the State Department of Health as a Care Home Operator.  Upon request, students who have completed the HawCC non-credit Nurses' Aide course may convert it to 8 credits (NURS 16) allowing them to earn a Certificate of Completion in CHO.


Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses interested in becoming licensed as Care Home Operators can enroll in a  course specially designed for them (NURS 15)
