The offices of Hawaiʻi Community College Chancellor Rachel Solemsaas and University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo Interim Chancellor Marcia Sakai welcome you to join the Kīpaepae Hawaiʻi Protocols Committee, an official co-campus community service committee. The primary purpose of this committee is to facilitate kīpaepae, Hawaiian ceremonies, to build our capacity to ensure equity and well-being for the diversity we serve and employ. This robust committee advances the Strategic Imperative of the University of Hawaiʻiʻs ten-campus system to transform UH-system into an indigenous-serving institution.

Kīpaepae Hawaiian Protocols Committee is in direct alignment to Hawaiʻi Papa O Ke Ao, a UH Strategic Directions Imperative to transform the UH system into an indigenous serving institution.

What are the commitments of this committee?

Participation in Kīpaepae (based on your availability)
Participation in the Kīpaepae Symposium (Friday, November 3rd 2pm-5pm)
UH Hilo Fall 17 & Spring 18 Commencements
HawCC Spring 18 Commencement
You need not have any prior experience in Hawaiian Protocols, all requisite training to be provided; and as there are many levels to protocols facilitation, there too are many avenues through which your unique strengths can contribute. This committee is open to all faculty, staff, administration, learner, and community member of HawCC and UHH.

Our first meeting for the semester is on Friday, September 15th, 10:00am-11:00am, 6A, Manono Campus & Rm 125 Panini Bldg., Pālamanui. Do come and join us.
