  • LEARNER: Commitment to Learner and their success.
  • COMMUNITY: Commitment to Community in supporting our Island’s educational and workforce needs.
  • KAUHALE: Commitment to Kauhale in uplifting and mālama each other’s learning, growth and development.

Huaka‘i (journey):

During Fall 2022 to Summer 2023, the Kauhale will engage in meaningful conversations and participate in activities where we will,

  • Learn: Learn about our Students, Community & Kauhale
  • Reaffirm: Reaffirm our Purpose and Commitments
  • Act & Deliver: Create, adapt and evolve work and action plans for each member and units (inter or cross functional areas) of our Kauhale

Ho‘ina: (Implementation)

  • Publication of plans. Present Draft of Strategic plans to Kauhale/community advisories for feedback and integration.
  • Periodic review of Strategic Plan, work plans and milestones. Update plan as needed.

Ha‘ina: (Evaluation, Evidence and Reflection)

Celebrating our wa‘a of Learners, Island Community, and Kauhale

  • Assessments and Program Review
  • Personnel Evaluations
  • KAʻAO KAI (Culture of Evidence)

  • to lead, to in a row or procession; to direct, to lift up and carry; to pull as weeds
  • to lead, support, lift up → kaiʻkaʻi
  • play on alakaʻi (leader)

This task force will be comprised of leaders looking to lead the way and inform this process that will eventually also lead the doings of and within our Kauhale.
