Hawaii Community College Annual Fact Book

The HawCC fact book has been developed to support the needs of Faculty and Staff in the collection of institutional data for grants, scholarships, accreditation, and other reporting needs. The HawCC IR office will continue to build out the site over the course of the Summer in support of reporting needs for the upcoming academic year.

HawCC Strategic Planning Documentation

Our strategic planning document is a running record of key performance indicators for the college. It is updated every year and for some measures we already have 5 full years of data. The strategic plan is structured so that it will list a particular measure, list the goal for the measure, then highlight the difference in the actual value for the measure, and that of the goal. Our goals are presented by a predetermined percentage of change expected, and the value is compounded every year.

In our strategic plan you will find breakouts for Native Hawaiian attainment, HawCC as a whole, Distance Education measures and more. You will find data regarding enrollments, pell participation, unclassified student counts, recent high school graduate data, full-time/part-time enrollment figures, Achieving the Dream Initiative measures, financial aid, remedial placements, enrollments, and completions, award achievement, numbers on transfer students (both in and out), gpa's, CCSSE performance, and distance learning enrollment and achievement data.

Following the strategic planning document you will also find a handy glossary that explains how the measures were collected and further defines each measure.

Responding to requirements for inter-institutional comparisons, Johnson County Community College established the National Community College Benchmark Project (NCCBP) with other colleges from across the United States to standardize a nation-wide benchmark reporting process. Since 2004, 353 community colleges have participated in the current data-collection and reporting process. 268 community colleges from across the United States participated in NCCBP in 2010. The UHCC Annual Fact Book was originally developed by the Office of the Vice President for Community Colleges specifically to address the need for consistent reporting across the system in support of accreditation activities. The fact book contains statistics on the University of Hawaii Community Colleges as well as information specific to Hawaii Community College. The fact book is currently being updated so that we can all use the latest data in support of this important work at our institutions. As soon as we have a working copy this site will be updated.

The Survey Library is the container for the colleges Annual Graduate Leaver Surveys as well as our Annual Faculty, Staff, and Administrators Surveys. Log-in instructions for accessing the CCSSE "members only" portion of the website are also available to faculty and staff through the Survey Library.

IRO Website

The IRO website is an excellent resource for your data needs. From the website..."Reports for the UH System, the UHCC System, and each of the 10 campuses contain summary headcount/SSH data, as well as detailed demographic breakdowns for gender, ethnicity, Hawaiian legacy, and tuition status. Updated dashboard reports are available, daily, at 8am during opening enrollment periods."

You will also want to visit the Management and Planning Support (MAPS) reports, which are in the left hand navigation pane also on the IRO Website linked above. One of the most useful of these reports is the MAPS Fall Enrollment Report. The most current MAPS Fall 2010 Enrollment Report contains a huge amount of demographic information on all community colleges in the system and is linked below.
