The Forest TEAM Program leads to a Certificate of Achievement (CA) and the Applied Science (AS) degree in Tropical Forest Ecosystem and Agroforestry Management.
Students learn to actively manage threatened native forests and regenerate Hawai`i's native ecosystems. They learn how to grow native plants and establish agroforestry operations. Classes include training in the use of Global Positioning Systems (GPS), and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
Internships give students hands-on learning with potential employers such as the National Park Service, the US Forest Service, the Biological Resources Division of the US Geological Survey, the Hawai`i Department of Land and Natural Resources, the Nature Conservancy of Hawai`i, Kamehameha Schools, and members of the Hawai`i Forest Industry Association.
