What Do We have To Offer?

No matter what career you choose, success in the workplace requires managing money and resources intelligently, applying critical thinking and communications skills, and maintaining high standards of professional ethics and personal integrity. Learn & develop these skills, competencies & values by enrolling in the Hawai`i Community College Accounting Program.

The Accounting Program offers the Associate in Applied Science degree. Students are prepared for entry-level positions in private and public businesses. The accounting equation and the accounting cycle, recording financial transactions and preparing financial statements are emphasized.

Accounting Careers:

Certificate of Achievement in Accounting Associate in Applied Science (AAS)

Upon satisfactory completion of 31 credits, a student earns a Certificate of Achievement and would be prepared for the following careers:

  • Accounts Receivable/Payable Clerk
  • Assistant to a full charge bookkeeper
  • Entry level clerk in public accounting
  • Property Manager Account Clerk

Upon satisfactory completion of 61 credits, a student earns an Associate in Applied Science degree and would be prepared for all the Certificate of Achievement careers as well as:

  • Bookkeeper
  • Paraprofessional in Public Accounting
  • Entry Level Loan Officer
  • QuickBooks Consultant
  • Tax Preparer
  • Small Business Office Manager
  • Payroll Clerk
  • Cost Accounting Clerk
